Program

1

Rachel Cloutier | Mary Did You Know

I am a huge fan of Christmas songs and also worship songs. I feel this was also a good song to introduce me to a few high notes/belting opportunities. I would love one day to do a whole Christmas show or album and I'm trying to perfect my favourite songs!

2

Natalia Grane | Hentai - Rosalia

When I first started singing lessons with Lydia, I told her that my dream was to be able to sing Hentai one day. This song is one of my favorite songs from Rosalia, an incredible singer from my homeland. This song is beautiful and very challenging. It has very high notes and requires certain singing skills that I didn't think I had. After all the work and practice, I'm utterly grateful, and proud, to be able to sing Hentai today

3

Morvarid Rohani | Jezebel - Sade

I chose Jezebel because Sade is my favourite artist and I grew up listening to her with my parents. I identify with this song because Jezebel is determined to reach for the top, and that has been my motivator in my life as well. Despite not coming from a privileged background, she rose above her circumstances.

I am a very beginner singer and this is my first recital. I struggle with high notes, but do well with low notes. Another reason why I chose this song is because it allowed me to showcase my strengths, while helping me work on areas that need development. Practicing this song has built my confidence, it makes me feel like I have potential.

4

Mia Ramiscal | Grown Up Christmas List

I chose to sing Grown Up Christmas List because there is a lot of hurting people in the world currently and especially with the war happening in Israel. I really love this song because it tell us about how Christmas isn't just about presents underneath the tree, but about peace and happiness. Lately there hasn't been much peace or happiness in the world.

5

Tahmineh | Last Christmas -  Wham!

My mother was fan of wham and it was one of her favorite songs One reason I chooded to sing it was because of my mother mostly since I haven't seen her for two years so it reminds me of her

6

Rachel Cloutier | All I Ask - Adele

I am a big fan of Adele ! I think she is a powerhouse and owns her voice. Her songs are definitely challenging and as I progress in my voice lessons I get excited when my high notes sound a little more like her. Singing this song makes me feel confident in my capabilities and excited to sing more many more years

7

Mia Ramiscal | I Dream a Dream - Les Miserables

8

Tahmineh | Always Be My Baby - Mariah Carey

I choosed to sing always be my baby because since I was child I was a fan of Mariah carey and her songs and always be my baby had a really good vibe and it's so nostalgic for me

9

Lydia Lee Tang | Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

This is one of my favourite Christmas songs. I’m pretty sure my Christmas playlist is simply different versions of this song. There is something beautifully nostalgic about this song. I have been singing this song for years so it’s not a technical challenge for me. However, I’m at the stage of my singing journey where I focus more on tone and style and delivery. You’re never “there” in your craft, you’re always looking to improve and be better and do better. But mostly I chose this because I love it and I want to share it with you all. Merry Christmas!
